You will be providing support services to adults in a residential setting at one of our Waiver or ICF homes located near Cleveland, Ohio. There is a focus on helping individuals provide volunteer services in the community, attend community outings, and participate in daily living skills. No job experience is required, but we are looking for compassionate team players committed to making a difference in the lives of others. PRIMARY JOB DUTIES: After proper orientation and training under the direction of the House Manager, the DSP Supervisor is responsible for providing the following: Assists in the supervision of individuals in all areas with an emphasis on Supported Routines, ISPdevelopment, implementation and documentation Organize and direct the DSP in program implementation and active treatment Generates the staff schedules for DSPs May drive company vehicles and accompany individuals going into the community for medical, recreational, personal, vocational or social activities Acts as a role model for DSPs in areas of interaction with individuals, programming and teamwork Participates in all interdisciplinary team meetings, prepares and presents factual, observable and measurable data concerning individuals programs and behaviors Recommend disciplinary action as needed for employees supervised All other duties as assigned by Group Home Manager Requirements JOB REQUIREMENTS: 1. High school diploma or GED * 2. Valid: Ohio driver’s license, with 4 points or less 3. Must be 18 years of age or older, minimum of 1 year experience with assisting individuals with disabilities. Some supervisor experience. 4. Ability to work with others, including family members, visitors and the general public Day Program positions 5.Ability to work congenially with others, courteous approach 6.Alertness in recognizing problems needing attention 7. A neat and professional appearance 8. Responsible, honest, trustworthy 9. Willingness to learn 10. Ability to assist in evacuation of individuals from unit or facility as appropriate 11. Knowledge of appropriate developmental-treatment programs; knowledge of the rights of the intellectually disabled and the ability to promote human dignity and protect the constitutional rights of the individuals 12. Knowledge of safety practices, grooming techniques, cleaning and sanitizing methods; skill in operation of laundry, cleaning equipment; skill in operation of cooking equipment 13. Knowledge of basic medical terminology, knowledge of basic intellectual disability terminology, programs and services, knowledge of elementary human development programs and terminology; knowledge of basic evaluation, observation techniques Knowledge of preventative behavioral techniques and interventions 14. Ability to communicate with developmentally disabled, disoriented and emotionally disturbed individuals 15. Basic knowledge of Licensure and Medicaid rules/regulations 16. Knowledge of company policies and procedures as well as facility procedures PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Physically capable of sitting, walking, reaching, bending, lifting, grasping, pushing and pulling, transferring and transporting, fine hand coordination 2. Ability to distinguish smells, tastes, temperatures 3. Ability to hear and respond to all modes of communication 4. Ability to perform mathematical functions and evaluates and interprets mathematical information 5. Ability to make independent decisions 6. Ability to remain calm under stress 7. Ability to read and write in English JOB RELATIONSHIPS 1. Provides direct supervision to Direct Support Professionals Required to relate to DSPs in a manner that enhances the programs and support of individuals served 2. Receives direct and specific supervision from the Group Home Manager 3. Receives general supervision from the QIDP and ICF Manager * Some locations may allow for the hiring of employees actively seeking their GED, as long as the GED is obtained within 1 year of hire
