Description Pay: $21-$21.50/hr Location: Beaverton, OR Schedule: Sunday 9a - Monday 2p. 29 hours total, 25 hours paid (4 hours unpaid; see sleep deduction below*) Brief Description: Ben is an active, young man who enjoys exploring the city on TriMet, visiting the animals at the zoo, and volunteering with friends. From trains to airplanes, Ben is passionate about all modes of transportation! He is often crafting away on his own aircraft model and requesting pictures of Boeing 767’s. Ben never misses an opportunity to celebrate a birthday, often letting people know that it’s time to celebrate different stuffies and cartoon characters that he enjoys. Remaining connected to his friends and family is very important to his well-being. He has housemates that live in a separate apartment living area from Ben and are his paid caregivers during the week. His housemates have one dog in the home. Ben owns his own vehicle which staff use to transport him. Ben gets along well with people who are engaging, positive, and willing to learn. Supports Include: Provide safe and reliable transportation (Ben owns his own vehicle, but needs staff to drive him) Provide some assistance with direct care (taking medication, hygiene, etc.) Provide partial assistance with house-keeping (disinfecting, sweeping, laundry, washing dishes, etc.) Provide full assistance with meal preparation (cook using kitchen utensils and appliances, etc.) Learn to provide partial assistance with communication (use of Choice Works and TDSNAP) Requirements Ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities
Provide safe and reliable transportation for Ben, assist with direct care tasks, and help with meal preparation and housekeeping. Engage with Ben in activities he enjoys and support his communication needs.
