Job DetailsJob Location: Liverpool - Syracuse, NY 13088Position Type: Per DiemEducation Level: NoneSalary Range: $25.00 - $25.00 HourlyDirect Support Professional Take A Break (MS-AS) A 7½-year-old non-verbal girl autism and her family is looking for a Direct Support Professional to work with her in the Liverpool area 20 hours a month. She loves sensory play, art projects, jumping and climbing, hanging out outside, music, and being around people. A potential candidate would need to be patient, caring, and willing to learn. Experience with disabilities is welcome but not required. She has a flexible schedule but would prefer afternoons and/or evenings to be preferred due to her sleep schedule. We have a somewhat flexible schedule and are open to any day of the week that works for you, but would prefer afternoons and/or evenings since Avalon likes to sleep in. Avalon is homeschooled so we are not limited to after school hours. Hourly rate: $25/hour Hours: 20 hours a month, Flexible, afternoons and/ or evenings preferred Location: Liverpool area near Electronics Pkwy Qualifications Must have a valid drivers license Effective communication and organizational skills required. Flexibility with assignments and schedule required. Reliable transportation to arrive to job site at scheduled time. Experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities preferred. Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community and abide by ARISE/EFR'S technology policy.
Responsibilities
Provide direct support to a non-verbal girl with autism, engaging her in sensory play, art, and outdoor activities. Assist the family by providing respite care approximately 20 hours per month.
