JOB SUMMARY:

Family Respite Services (FRS) is seeking compassionate, committed individuals to join as Direct Service Providers to support a youth with a developmental disability in the Leamington area. As a Direct Service Provider, you will play a vital role in supporting the youth and their family.
Qualifications: Child and Youth Worker/ Developmental Services Worker or related discipline.
Hours of Work: This is a part time position. 12-32 hours per week. Hours of work are primarily after school and weekends. Some before school hours are also available.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A vulnerable police clearance is required
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Demonstrated past experience working with children who need developmental and behavioural support.
  • Ability to work after-school and weekend hours. (REQUIRED)
  • Some before school hours are also available

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· To provide direct support. This includes engaging the child/youth in social activities and provide positive behavioural support in their home and community.
· To_ provide appropriate supervision_ to support the safety and well-being of the person being supported
-To work with others, including the child’s family and professionals to develop and follow the best plan for successful support.
· Must have G license, insurance and be able to transport a child. This will be requested as a condition of employment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and implement engaging activities tailored to the child’s interests.
  • Implement a support plan based on the child’s strengths, interests and needs in collaboration with others.
