Description

WASO is hiring! We are looking for people that are committed to providing high quality supports to adults diagnosed with a developmental or learning disability. WASO is a multi-faceted agency that provides a diverse range of supports to individuals that choose to receive service from one of our programs.
Support Staff for Diversity Works are responsible for:
· Working closely with the Program Manager to plan and execute tasks, activities and programs on site and in the community.
· Assessing the practical and employment skills and abilities of individuals that have joined the project.
· Supervising and supporting individuals as they explore numerous types of employment in five career areas.
· Providing transportation to site tours or other project related activities as required
· Facilitating training opportunities to enhance each person’s work readiness and employability
· Modelling appropriate workplace behaviour to individuals they support at all times.
· Communicating effectively with colleagues, the people WASO supports and their support networks.
· Supporting individuals with a diverse range of barriers to employment
Requirements:
· A minimum of two years experience providing supports to individuals (ideally in a day service environment)
· Digital literacy skills, including Microsoft Office
· A valid class 5F driver’s license
· Acceptable Criminal record, Adult Abuse and Child Abuse Registry checks
· Access to a vehicle
· Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position (sitting, standing, walking, lifting 50 pounds)
