DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS

Lenovo is seeking a Direct Tax Senior Analyst to join its U.S. tax team in Morrisville, NC. This role will support the Direct Tax Manager and contribute to ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local income and franchise tax requirements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This is a hybrid position, requiring regular in-office presence in Morrisville, NC, along with remote work flexibility.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in public accounting or industry, with a focus on federal and multistate income tax for multinational corporations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA certification or CPA candidate
  • Experience with SAP / S4 Hana
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic

Responsibilities
  • Compile and analyze data to complete tax return workpapers
  • Review federal, state, and local income and franchise tax returns and schedules prepared by external providers
  • Prepare and review quarterly estimated/extension tax calculations and payments for all North American entities
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian federal and provincial income tax returns, including preparation, review, and coordination with external advisors
  • Support audit responses and information requests from taxing authorities
  • Assist in preparing quarterly and annual income tax provisions in accordance with IFRS (IAS 12)
  • Contribute to tax-related initiatives including R&D Tax Credit, statutory financial statements, and transfer pricing documentation
  • Support digital tax transformation projects, including advising IT teams on tax requirements and participating in solution design and testing
  • Conduct tax research and monitor changes in tax laws
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Legal, and R&D teams
  • Assist with various ad hoc reporting and analysis requests
  • Provide administrative support as needed, including organizing documentation, maintaining tax files, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
