Description GENERAL SUMMARY The DSD merchandiser primarily serves local grocery and retail sales channels in the Kansas City area in Missouri and Kansas, supporting our sales department in high-volume accounts. They are responsible for ensuring products are properly merchandised, rotated, and in stock, and developing strong customer relationships. This role supports sales and brand visibility through effective product placement and adherence to merchandising standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. 1. Merchandise assigned accounts according to company standards. Includes merchandising and rotating all points of sale, organizing back stock, building displays, and implementing planograms 2. Identify sales opportunities and communicate those and any store issues to sales representatives and their immediate supervisor 3. Maintain current shelf placement and be able to identify opportunities to expand 4. Cleaning and dusting of the products and shelving 5. Complete all required company paperwork accurately and on time 6. Cover routes for vacations and/or sick leave 7. Follow all company safety, sanitation, and operational procedures 8. Perform additional job duties as required Requirements Required Education and Experience · A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. · Automotive transportation that will safely allow travel throughout the city daily for store visits. · Valid driver’s license and insurance with a clean driving record COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES Knowledge of: · English grammar, spelling, punctuation · Knowledge of DSD sales processes and terminology is a plus. Skill in: · Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks. · Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping. · Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to: · Work with minimal supervision. · Work collaboratively in a team environment and interact effectively with a diverse group of people. · Handle the physical requirements of the (noted below) · Meet schedules and deadlines for the work · Understand and carry out oral and written directions · Adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. · Be a self-starter with problem-solving abilities. · Understand and fulfill customer needs while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. · Troubleshoot issues, resolve customer complaints and find solutions to challenges that arise in the sales process. POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK · Will work in grocery stores, stocking products on shelves. · General work is Monday through Friday, approximately 8am until 4pm. · Occasional abnormal hours are expected and required for specific events. TRAVEL · Frequent travel by car within the metropolitan area will be required. WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS · Significant use of muscles to lift and place items up to 50 pounds for shelf stocking. Repeated bending, kneeling, reaching, etc., is required to place products. · Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
