JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for leading the strategic direction, technical oversight, and operational execution of Comcast’s Managed WI-FI portfolio across commercial and residential properties. This role oversees a high-performing engineering team capable of executing large-scale deployments and sustaining operations across varied product requirements. The Director provides leadership across multiple functional areas, develops and implements strategy, and ensures alignment with business goals. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in networking technologies, a proactive approach to service optimization, and strong cross-functional collaboration skills. This role contributes to functional strategy development and has a significant impact on business results, typically managing one or more groups of professional employees.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains communication of project statuses and drives for continued improvement in quality and availability of each product offering.
  • Owns the technical strategy and lifecycle management of the WI-FI customer portfolio (Managed WI-FI, Connected buildings, etc.).
  • Oversee WI-FI design and deployment reviews to ensure alignment and performance.
  • Leads new property turn-up and configuration support.
  • Manages baseline documentation and “birth certificates” for WI-FI properties
  • Maintains communication of project statuses and drives continuous improvement in service quality and availability.
  • Analyzes complex business needs via interaction with leadership team, internal operational managers and external customers.
  • Provides a sustaining engineering role for networking technologies.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders within the Division
  • Guides heatmapping analysis and validation for optimal coverage.
  • Partners with TPX and XOC teams for performance monitoring and incident management.
  • Leads root cause analysis and problem management for recurring issues.
  • Evaluates hardware solutions (APs, switches) and oversee lab-based firmware/feature validations.
  • Delivers weekly/monthly health reports with actionable insights for leadership.
  • Deploys new functionality quickly and accurately, minimizing disruptions even during maintenance windows.
  • Develops processes and procedures designed to minimize the impact of system outages.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Remains current on emerging technologies and long-range planning (LRP) to ensure alignment with both current state operations and future-state strategic initiatives.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
