JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of the Academic Enrichment center is responsible for the direction and leadership of operational, programmatic, and intervention/retention efforts for programs in the College of Medicine and Life Sciences designed specifically for their student population needs. The range of responsibilities include assessing, meeting and continuously monitoring the objectives of each college program served while maintaining practices aligned with UToledo’s strategic retention plan while directing day-to- day operations, supervision of professional staff, developing, promoting and delivering holistic student support through curriculum development and intervention processes, implement programs and monitor processes that support the success of COMLS students in academics and wellness
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in related field (medical or education) required.
Five (5) year supervisory/leadership experience required.
Experience in student support services at the graduate/professional level.
Experience with data management software.
Experience in student wellness programming
Experience in assessment, evaluation and analysis of data to measure effectiveness of educational objectives.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with administrative leadership, faculty, staff and stakeholders across the institution.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and exemplary attitude to provide exceptional services and positive student experience.
Ability to maintain an inclusive environment.
Knowledge of educational learning theories, current pedagogical trends, Student Development Theory, Executive Functioning and Self-Regulation.
Experience training/onboarding employees.
Must be well-organized and able to work independently, possessing a high degree of initiative, creativity and motivation.
Proficient in the use of technology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Specialist with experience in student academic support in health science and health professions programs
Experience in teaching or content creation and delivery to large groups
