Director, Accounting and Reporting Workstream Data Lead

The Workstream Data Lead is accountable for the delivery of all data requirements supporting the transformation of a key set of Finance processes for example Actuarial or Accounting. This will primarily involve supporting the automation of all data requirements into new common data structures, supporting persisting and storing key data outputs from these processes, and applying key data quality and data analysis capabilities. Throughout FFP the role needs to ensure data used within the function aligns to Prudential Enterprise data standards. Working with the Future Finance Data Team, this role will need to partner with business users, project teams, third party consultants and core technology resources.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 5-10yrs experience in an insurance transformation role.
  • Experience in Actuarial or general ledger accounting and reporting processes.
  • Understands and has performed the role of Product Owner.
  • Extensive knowledge of agile delivery.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle or Prophet systems desirable.
  • Project management experience within a data or Finance area required.
  • Operating model design - Proven track record in designing and implementing operating model design.
  • Experience in managing data related projects, data technology, or data governance activities.
  • Has experience working with Audit, Compliance and Operational Risk.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the overall successful delivery of the workstream with the Data program on FFP.
  • Play the role of Product Owner in an Agile development methodology to define the strategy and prioritise the book of work for the workstream.
  • Be the key liaison with the senior accountable executive and their delivery team for the data related deliverables to enable their process changes.
  • Ensure that all data requirements are captured accurately and consistently.
  • Partner with Data Technical leads and architects to design and build solutions to meet the requirements according to the Finance Data Strategy.
  • Deliver data solutions on time, and to quality, to meet the requirements of downstream process deliverables.
  • Oversee the resource profile of the workstream - balance between permanent, contracts and consultants.
  • Where consultants are required manage the RFP and selection process, define success criteria and ensure delivery against a fixed price.
  • Running the operational cadence of the workstream, including: weekly oversight meetings, sprint planning, and retrospective sessions
  • Own the product roadmap for the workstream and integrate it into the programme plan, locking in dependencies with other workstreams.
  • Prepare and present materials for all design authority and steering committee forums.
  • Implement comms strategy for senior leader and stakeholder updates.
  • Oversee test strategy and execution for the workstream.
  • Accountable for development of the overall data architecture.
  • Budget and cost management for the workstream ensuring value for money and maximisation of benefits.
