THE OPPORTUNITY

Veyron (a real estate developer specializing in luxury residential and hospitality), is searching for an exceptionally talented Director, Accounting & Finance, to join our team and assist us in developing world-class product. Working closely with the President, the successful candidate will be a highly self-motivated individual who is able to work independently. The Director of Finance will assume a strategic role in the day-to-day financial management of the Construction and Development Holdings as well as provide support to other divisions, as needed, that fall under the Veyron Group of Companies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a skilled communicator, with well-developed verbal, written and presentation ability
  • Strong spreadsheet skills (Excel) and ERP (QuickBooks) a must
  • Willing to lead projects and take initiative
  • Works well under stress and/or with tight timelines
  • Strong technical accounting background
  • Possess strong organizational, time management and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting or Finance
  • Accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA) with relevant industry experience
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ experience in an accounting construction and/or property development role
  • Must have a valid drivers license and the ability to travel to Properties
Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll be using your technical accounting expertise to provide the following support:

  • Responsibility over planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial related activities, systems and controls in order to ensure complete, accurate and timely reporting in accordance with ASPE and other regulatory requirements
  • Completion of day-to-day corporate and personal accounting functions, intercompany transactions, reconciling general ledger accounts and providing monthly, quarterly and yearly reporting
  • Interpret financial results to the Executive Team in order to assess business performance and make recommendations for improvement and sound financial strategies
  • Design and implement systems of measurement to improve performance in areas of margins, forecasting, working capital, and operations
  • Liaise with private and institutional lenders to secure financing
  • Evaluate and negotiate potential acquisitions and divestures of assets
  • Implementing best practice internal controls and company policies and procedures
  • Lead system improvements to automate and streamline existing financial processes
  • Manage annual review conducted by third party auditor to ensure timely and on budget completion
  • Provide personal investment strategy, business planning and risk management to the President
  • Complete any additional projects which may be assigned to meet the needs of the business
