Job Purpose Strategise and drive the advancement and fundraising by leading fundraising, zakat collection, disbursement, scholarships, grants, and stakeholder governance to ensure a sustainable, compliant, and shariah‑aligned flow of funds that supports institutional priorities.   Key Accountabilities:   Fundraising & Zakat Collection Strategy Provide strategic leadership in planning and executing fundraising and zakat collection initiatives. Drive sustainable income generation by reviewing donor profiles, leading donor cultivation and solicitation strategies, approving engagement initiatives (including Staff Giving Campaigns), engaging industry and corporate sponsors, and conducting zakat outreach programmes in collaboration with MAIPk, ensuring consistent and compliant zakat collection using UTP as amil.   Disbursement, Scholarship & Grant Governance Oversee and govern the end‑to‑end management of TAZU disbursements, YUTP scholarships, and YUTP grants by ensuring distributions are executed in accordance with approved procedures and governance requirements. Lead budget preparation, candidate assessment and interviews, and facilitate endorsement and approval processes through YUTP Board and JTAZU, ensuring financial assistance is awarded to eligible and deserving recipients in a transparent, equitable, and compliant manner.   Stakeholder & Board Engagement Management Manage and strengthen strategic engagement with independent YUTP Board members and MAIPk officials by serving as Secretariat to YUTP and JTAZU. Ensure effective coordination, communication, and governance support to foster constructive relationships, informed decision‑making, and sustained stakeholder confidence in the management of YUTP and TAZU funds.   Financial Management, Reporting & Governance Compliance Provide oversight of financial management and governance by reviewing financial analyses, reports, and status updates prior to submission to the CFO, JTAZU, and YUTP Board. Ensure zakat distributions comply with Shariah and MAIPk directives, scholarships and grants adhere to approved procedures, and OPEX and CAPEX funding drawdowns from YUTP are executed in compliance with legal, statutory, and institutional governance requirements.     Qualification & Experience:   Education * A recognised Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Non‑Profit Management, Public Administration, Islamic Finance, or a related discipline. * Professional qualifications and/or advanced degrees are an added advantage, reflecting enhanced capability in fundraising governance, financial stewardship, or philanthropic management.   Experience * More than 10 years of progressive experience in advancement, fundraising, philanthropic management, trust or foundation administration, or related financial and stakeholder‑facing roles within large or complex organisations. * Demonstrated success in planning and driving fundraising initiatives, including donor cultivation, sponsorship engagement, corporate giving, staff giving campaigns, and structured income‑generation programmes. * Proven experience in zakat collection, trust fund, endowment, scholarship, or grant management, including exposure to disbursement processes, eligibility assessment, and governance oversight. * Strong working experience with boards, committees, and external authorities, including acting as secretariat, preparing papers, managing approvals, and supporting informed decision‑making at governance level. * Demonstrated understanding of financial governance, reporting, and compliance, with the ability to review financial analyses, reports, and drawdowns to ensure adherence to legal, statutory, and institutional requirements. * Experience working within regulated or policy‑driven environments, with exposure to shariah principles, zakat governance, or statutory compliance considered an advantage. * Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical capability to engage donors, industry partners, board members, regulators, and internal stakeholders effectively.
Responsibilities
