About This Role: We’re looking for a full-time Director, AI Engineering to join our Engineering team reporting to the VP of AI Engineering. This role is a hybrid role based out of our Bangalore location. In this role, you’ll play a key role in driving the success of the Atlas platform by leading and managing the Bangalore engineering team, ensuring strong delivery, team health, and people development. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering Leadership, and technical leads. The ideal candidate brings strong skills in engineering team management, stakeholder collaboration, and execution leadership. What You'll Do: Manage a team of engineers in Bangalore: hiring, performance, career development, and retention. Own team delivery and execution for Atlas, coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders. Act as the primary people manager, enabling senior ICs to focus on technical contributions. Drive team culture, engagement, and operational health. Partner with product and engineering leadership on roadmap and priorities. This role may require occasional travel (up to 10%) for team meetings, training, or company events. This is not a complete list of responsibilities, and the scope of the role may evolve with the needs of the team and business. This role will require occasional travel for team meetings, training, or company events. What We're Looking For: 10+ years in software engineering; 3+ years in engineering management. Experience managing distributed/offshore teams. Strong people skills: coaching, conflict resolution, team building. Familiarity with AI/ML engineering environments preferred. Proven ability to collaborate with senior technical ICs without micromanaging.
