the job: The Director of Amazon will serve as the strategic owner of amika’s Amazon channel, with a core focus on brand storytelling, customer experience, and integrated growth. This role is primarily strategic and cross-functional in nature; day-to-day execution, reporting, and operational management are led by the Amazon Account Manager and agency partners. This leader will develop a long-term vision for Amazon and define how amika shows up on Amazon, ensuring the channel delivers a premium, immersive, and cohesive experience comparable to leading beauty retailers. This leader will work deeply cross-functionally with Creative, Brand Marketing, Influencer, Affiliate, and Digital Marketing teams to design Amazon-specific strategies across content, creators, and media. They will translate amika’s brand equity into Amazon-native execution while partnering with internal teams, agencies, and the Amazon Account Manager to bring the strategy to life. salary: $150,000 + bonus location: hybrid. NYC preferred what you'll do: Amazon Roadmap + Vision Own the strategic roadmap for Amazon, defining the role of the channel within amika’s broader ecommerce and brand ecosystem. Serve as the internal subject-matter expert on Amazon, educating senior stakeholders on trends, opportunities, and the evolving role of marketplaces in beauty. Set the vision for how Amazon delivers a best-in-class beauty experience, aligned with amika’s presence at major beauty retailers. Establish success metrics beyond sales alone, including brand engagement, content performance, and new-to-brand acquisition. Partner with the AVP of Ecommerce on annual planning, growth targets, and long-term channel evolution. Channel Strategy & Leadership Own Amazon channel P&L and strategic financial targets, with operational forecasting, reporting, and execution supported by the Amazon Account Manager. In partnership with the AVP, Ecommerce, define and execute the multi-year Amazon growth strategy, integrating brand initiatives, category expansion, promotions, and product roadmaps. Lead Amazon’s role in major brand moments, product launches, and seasonal campaigns, ensuring Amazon execution is planned in parallel with DTC and retail, not as an afterthought. Lead and develop the Amazon Account Manager Brand Experience, Content & Creative Leadership Partner closely with Creative and Brand teams to develop Amazon-specific creative assets (PDP imagery, A+ content, video, Brand Store, seasonal storytelling). Own the Amazon Brand Store as a primary brand destination, ensuring it is regularly refreshed to support launches, seasonal moments, hero products, and campaigns. Translate brand campaigns, launches, and hero products into Amazon-native executions that maintain amika’s voice, visual identity, and storytelling depth. Define content standards, testing frameworks, and creative best practices to continuously elevate conversion and engagement. Ensure Amazon feels as intentional, premium, and immersive as Sephora, Ulta, and other key beauty retail environments. Partner closely with the Influencer Marketing team to build an Amazon-dedicated creator roadmap, including storefronts, shoppable content, launch activations, and evergreen programs. Performance Marketing + Analytics Use competitive analysis and category insights to proactively drive innovation and defend market share. Partner with our agency + paid media team to optimize our Amazon Ads strategy (SP, SB, SD) and DSP, ensuring full-funnel alignment from awareness to conversion to repeat. Work with agency and internal partners to optimize spend efficiency across TACoS, ROAS, share of voice, and N2B acquisition. Build robust reporting frameworks for sales, profitability, media efficiency, and consumer behavior (N2B, repeat purchase, LTV). must haves: 8+ years of experience in ecommerce, marketplaces, or digital retail; 4+ years specifically managing Amazon or working for Amazon. Demonstrated success owning an Amazon P&L and scaling a 3P or hybrid business in beauty, personal care, or a similar brand-led category. Expertise in Amazon content optimization, media strategy, catalog management, operations, and analytics. Experience leading agencies, cross-functional teams, and internal direct reports. Requirements: Strong strategic thinker with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans. Deep understanding of Amazon search, conversion drivers, retail media, and beauty consumer behavior. Highly analytical with strong command of Amazon data sources (Vendor Central, Brand Analytics, Ads Console, search term reports). Collaborative, proactive, and able to influence across departments and leadership levels.
