JOB SUMMARY

Demonstrates knowledge by leading the team to accomplish daily goals. Ensures the highest level of service during events by training and developing staff and executing the requirements of events based on standards. Can hold associates and themselves to a high level of accountability and consistency. Drive customer satisfaction and capitalize revenue opportunities during the event phase of a function. Provides clear and concise communications to everyone having ownership in the success of the event. Monitors and controls financial and administrative responsibilities to meet or exceed department goals. Able to focus on hotel leadership duties outside the daily responsibilities of the banquet department and contribute to hotel’s internal and external community initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED; 3 years’ experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area.

OR

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 1 year of experience in event management, food and beverage, sales and marketing, or related professional area.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS



    • Anticipates guests’ needs.

    • Be proactive and detail-oriented to avoid any potential issues
    • Be visible in the eyes of the clients, guests, and associates. Lead by example.
    • Ensure the staff is knowledgeable about the groups and their functions.
    • Food displays are creative, labeled, and well-maintained throughout all functions.
    • Knowledge of proper staffing guidelines and company service standards.
    • Promote employee empowerment
    • 3 years of experience in the Director of Banquets role.
