Anticipated Hiring Range: $140,004 - $162,804 annually (Commensurate with experience and qualifications)

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree - in Business or similar field: from an accredited institution.
- Driver’s License, Valid and in State
- Two (2) years experience supervising, leading, managing professional-level staff.
- Five (5) years of knowledge and experience analyzing, interpreting and projecting multi-fund financial and program data in a large and complex organization.
- Knowledge and experience with budgeting processes and budget operations as it relates to various funds (operating and capital).
- Experience in financial strategic planning, analysis, management; demonstrated effectiveness in resource planning, budget modeling, data analysis, and presentation;
- Prefer experience using component of the campus Common Management System (PeopleSoft/Oracle Finance, HR and Student Administration) or similar system in preparation of financial reports and Questica budgeting system
- Experience in cost/benefit analysis and return on investment analysis;
- Experience in higher education administration preferred that would demonstrate understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of financial and business operations;
- Critical thinking including the understanding of the use of information and data as it relates to systems, stakeholders, decision making and the support of institutional leadership;
- Working knowledge of GAAP and fiscal closing processes;
- Working knowledge of statistical and forecasting methods and tools; Knowledge of fund accounting, fund usage, and accounting procedures;
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignment in consultative, efficient and effective manner;
- Ability to make independent judgements and decisions; prioritize and work independently without supervision; maintain confidentiality; and anticipate problems and initiate corrective action;
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills - both verbal and written;
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others within and outside the work group; ability to work with a variety of internal and external constituencies;
- Self-starter, with a pro-active attitude toward tasks and can work within established deadlines
- Must be able to: work on multiple tasks at the same time; understand and implement accounting and budgeting practices; conduct financial research and analyze information accurately; implement and maintain budgeting and position management software.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s Degree - in Business or similar field and/or CPA is preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Upon Hire Preferred
- Working knowledge of statistical and forecasting tools
- Working knowledge of the broad scale CSU fiscal closing process and GAAP;
- Experience within the CSU system or other higher education institution preferred;
- Experience using components of the campus CMS (PS/Oracle Finance, HR, Student Admin) or similar system in preparation of financial analyses;
- Experience in higher education administration preferred that would demonstrate understanding of the principles, practices, and procedures of financial and business operations
UNIVERSITY DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
Positions that require driving for university business by using a personal or state vehicle must comply with the Authorized University Driver Policy. Driving records are monitored and evaluated by the Risk Management Department. The Risk Management Department evaluates a good driving report based on the following criteria. The driver must: 1. Have a valid California or other State Driver’s license. 2. Have no more than 3 motor vehicle violations or been the cause of 3 accidents in a 12-month period (or any combination of 3 thereof) 3. Not have more than 3 DMV Points, if their license is Class C or, 4. Not have more than 5 DMV Points, if their license is Class A, B, or C with endorsements.
