We are looking for a Director Business Development – based in Berlin or working remotely – with expertise in digitalisation, private sector development and/or climate change for development consulting. The ideal candidate has a strong background in business development with key German donors, notably GIZ and/or KFW. We are looking for detail-oriented, pro-active and responsibility taking individuals that aim to create a positive impact through high-quality consulting services in the global development market.

EXPERIENCE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Exceptional academic background, holding a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, International Business, Economics or another relevant field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in business development, with a focus on identifying new business opportunities, market research, and strategic planning, primarily in the German donor market (GIZ/KFW).
  • Demonstrated success in developing and negotiating partnerships and financial agreements for consulting opportunities.
  • In-depth knowledge of market dynamics and a solid understanding of procurement processes and regulations across different sectors.
  • A proven ability to manage and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and industry experts, to drive business growth.
  • Outstanding negotiation and relationship-building skills, with a record of successful deals and partnerships.
  • Full computer literacy and full proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software.
  • Excellent command of English and/or French; fluency in both is a strong advantage.
  • Display commitment and passion for international development.
  • A proactive “can do” attitude with a strong drive to overcome challenges and achieve business objectives.
