Join a high-impact, global team driving innovation in mRNA therapeutics. As the Director of Business Development – mRNA, you will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and closing strategic development and manufacturing partnerships in the rapidly growing mRNA space. You will lead efforts to build meaningful client relationships, negotiate complex contracts, and shape the future of our mRNA business pipeline.
This is a senior-level, high-visibility role on our Global Business Development team, ideal for someone with strong commercial instincts, scientific acumen, and a passion for cutting-edge biotech solutions.
Location: Remote (EU-based)
Travel: Up to 50% of the time

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Dynamic, hands-on professional with 5-8+ years of proven success driving Business Development/Sales activities, preferably in the CMO industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Strong written, spoken, and presentation-driven communications skills.
  • Ability to adjust communications style with ease to fit the audience and the message at hand.
  • Willing to travel to AGC Biologics sites globally and to client locations ~ 50% of the time.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, open, lead, and close contracts for new projects with new and existing clients, promoting company visibility, growth, and profitability. Formulate and implement strategies that substantially increase revenue and market share in the region.
  • Develop and execute on sales territory plan, with the objective of achieving annual sales targets for territory through acquisition of new deals.
  • Implement strategies aimed toward increasing revenue and market share in the target region.
  • Establish contact and develop proposals with prospective and existing clients that meet target profiles. Visit clients and communicate company capabilities with appropriate personnel.
  • Facilitate site visits by prospective clients, setting agendas, coordinating team participation, and leading discussions. Follow up with clients after the site visit, providing diligent feedback and strategies to address any concerns. Lead the closing of any deals.
  • Actively participate in the development of a comprehensive and effective marketing plan for the region.
  • Build and sustain effective relationships and alliances, both internally and externally, to ensure that business opportunities are identified, analyzed, and pursued in a timely manner; consolidate information into customer relationship management system, organizing and tracking prospects and partnerships.
  • Develop, nurture, and maintain a positive, constructive, and trusting working relationship with members of relevant internal teams at all locations.
  • Provide market intelligence acquired through sales initiatives to business development and other cross-functional teams.
  • Develop, nurture, and maintain a positive, constructive, and trusting working relationship with members of the relevant teams at the global sites, as well as the Business Development Team.
  • Coordinate both internal and external technical, legal, and/or financial due diligence activities regarding specific business opportunities.
  • Represent the company at various trade shows, community, and/or business meetings.
  • Deliver the expected number of business opportunities in line with management expectations, at the appropriate level of quality.
