SUMMARY

The Director of Business Development will lead managers whose teams are product and vertical focused. These teams generate opportunities from marketing leads and from outbound efforts for our sales organization that lead to pipeline generation and bookings. They will also oversee manager(s) of direct selling team(s) in the B2C sales organization and ensure targets are met and exceeded. The Director of Business Development will also collaborate with sales, marketing, product, and operations frequently to meet the needs of Relias.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 7+ years leadership experience with a documented track record of success
  • Experience managing sales professionals in the healthcare and technology industries
  • Experience managing remote leaders and/or sales professionals
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Great work ethic and prior or current management/lead experience
  • Strong negotiation and collaboration skills
  • Prior experience with customer-facing roles requiring extensive internal or external interaction via phone, video conferencing, email, and face-to-face
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinker with the agility to problem solve autonomously
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with Salesforce.com, Gong, ChiliPiper, and Generative AI
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to maintain effective and respected work relationships with other management and employees

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Responsibilities
  • Leading managers of business development and direct sales teams
  • Assisting managers and teams in driving activity KPI activities to promote executive meetings, demo sets and completions, pipeline generation, and bookings
  • Assisting managers and teams in driving to exceed bookings targets through client expansion and up-selling, and developing new business
  • Providing onsite and virtual support to your teams’ sales efforts, including, but not limited to:
  • Maximizing teams’ effort by call shadowing, coaching, mentoring, and performance improvement planning for teams’ professional growth and development
  • Working with corporate resources to provide ongoing training for team members in products and process, leveraging new and existing tools to improve performance and goal attainment
  • Collaborating with sales and marketing leaders on performance management, sales strategies. reporting, forecasting, and compensation
  • Tracking activities in Salesforce, Gong, ChiliPiper, and other platforms, and working closely to monitor trends and impacts on the business
  • Working with Revenue Operations to ensure proper tracking and attribution for quota attainment.
  • Working closely with SVP of Marketing on tracking, activity metrics, cross-functional opportunity, and new areas of focus
  • Monitor sales teams work with implementation team, operations, UI/UX team, and business systems for improvements, and problem solve challenges that may impede sales productivity
  • Conducting managerial administrative responsibilities, including PTO approval, expense report approval, etc.
  • Recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new team members
  • Entrepreneurial spirit regarding our business and team, including leveraging GenAI and driving change management and oversight of pull-through from the team, performance improvement, and team optimization
  • Travel to industry events, tradeshows, and our corporate office
  • Other duties as assigned
