About the Role The Director, Business Development is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers, connecting with key company leaders and stakeholders, and driving customer satisfaction throughout the sales process. They oversee the full sales process, so that new customer revenue is consistently secured for our organization. Salary Bridge for the first year is offered. Director, Business Development Job Duties Sell transportation and logistics services to customers with diverse needs and requirements through prospecting, cold calling, and leveraging third party relationships. Grow business opportunities through generating sales leads, soliciting new accounts, and increasing services to current customers Build and maintain a sales pipeline of opportunities that contribute gross profit to the organization Collaborate with management on sales goals, planning and forecasting: maintain short and long-term business development plans Create and deliver sales presentations to customers Engage with internal and external business teams and stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve performance, service, customer satisfaction, and margin on accounts. Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, as well as customer and internal company stakeholders Conduct periodic internal and external business reviews. Monitor account net revenue trends to ensure the correct margins are setup on each product and/or service Create customer account structure in CRM following the company's global standards, and ensure CRM data integrity at all times Participate in the creation of value-added solutions for customer’s logistics needs, including supporting diagrams and cost-benefit calculations Support the transition of new accounts through customer introductions, information transfer, and securing any necessary customer paperwork. When needed, support accounts receivable (AR) collection. Requirements In-depth knowledge and understanding of the logistics and transportation industry required Demonstrable ability to communicate with clarity and confidence, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization. Employs active listening and strong negotiation skills when necessary. Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit with excellent listening and negotiation skills Experience delivering client-focused supply chain solutions to meet customer business requirements Proven ability to juggle multiple sales opportunities at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail. Advanced use of computer systems and applications (e.g. MS Office, and Salesforce) as trained/required. Able to deliver quality results consistently and on schedule. Self-motivated, goal oriented, and follows through on initiatives. Experience in delivering world class customer service skills through problem solving, rapport building, Leads with humility and respects others, promotes a culture of safety, trust and teamwork. Self-regulates emotions, displaying a calm demeanor. Uses independent judgment and is able to identify problems, root-cause, and develop effective solutions. Generates new ideas to support change and creatively solves problems. Strong analytical skills; makes decisions based on long-term outcomes. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, or relevant field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Business Development Representative or equivalent combination of education and experience.
