Work Shift Job Summary: The Director, Business Operations Digital Health will help to lead the implementation, execution, and continuous optimization of Wellstar's digital health programs and initiatives. This leadership role is responsible for daily tactical operations that support the digital health services across the organization and throughout the state of Georgia. The Director will manage a dedicated team and work collaboratively across departments including IT, Data, Finance, Revenue Cycle, Operations, Legal, and Compliance to ensure that digital health initiatives are delivered efficiently, on time, and in full alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, self-motivated, and dedicated to delivering high-quality, accessible, and innovative care solutions for every patient, every time. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Implementation and Optimization a. Lead the daily business operations function for the Digital Health department, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and strategy is achieved. b. Oversee the execution and ongoing optimization of digital health programs, partnering with IT, Operations, and other key stakeholders to ensure the efficiency, scalability, and sustainability of Digital Health programs through business operation functions including registration, scheduling, revenue cycle management, project management, and quality assurance. c. Partner with the data team to develop and maintain metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools to track performance, identify gaps, and drive data-informed recommendations to Digital Health leadership team. d. Champion continuous improvement by evaluating workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing operational best practices alongside the Digital Health Program leaders. e. Oversee contract management for Digital health operations including contract execution, accounts receivable/payable, and alignment of contract with departmental and system goals. f. Partner with Finance and Revenue Cycle to ensure billing requirements are well defined, implemented, and tracked within the department for all Digital Health services. g. Support clinician onboarding processes with Medical Staff and Provider Credentialing to ensure appropriate setup and alignment with departmental needs. Adherence to Legal and Regulatory Requirements a. Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Digital Health Program Leadership to verify all current and future Digital Health initiatives comply with relevant billing, regulatory, and legal standards. b. Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and Revenue Cycle teams to proactively identify and mitigate current and future risks regarding Digital Health service offerings. c. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of digital health regulations and payer requirements, and propose changes into operational processes based on guidelines from Legal, Compliance, Public Affairs and other key stakeholders Management and Team Development a. Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing team responsible for supporting digital health operations and program execution. b. Set clear goals, provide performance feedback, and support career development opportunities for team members. c. Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the Digital Health operations team. d. Allocate responsibilities and resources effectively to meet project timelines and organizational goals. Stakeholder Engagement (internal and external) a. Serve as a key liaison across departments including IT, Data, Finance, Revenue Cycle, Operations, Legal, and Compliance. b. Foster strong cross-functional relationships to enable seamless coordination and timely delivery of initiatives. c. Engage approved external vendors, partners, or consultants as needed to support project implementation and success. d. Represent Digital Health operations in executive and steering committee meetings, providing updates and insights to senior leadership as needed based on business operational functions. e. Provide regular updates to Digital Health leadership and other key stakeholders throughout the implementation and optimization lifecycle Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education: Bachelors degree is required. Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 4 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare operations is required. Minimum 4 years of direct focus on digital health or health IT programs is required. Required Minimum Skills: Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with knowledge of healthcare billing, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards Strong verbal and written communication and presentation abilities. Proven capacity to work independently while motivating and developing both staff and leaders Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders to drive on-time and on-strategy execution. Exceptional project management skills with experience overseeing complex, multi-departmental initiatives. Ability to analyze data to drive decision-making and operational improvements.
