About the Role We’re seeking a Director of Business Strategy & Operations Management who brings rigor, discipline, and focus to our strategic priorities and execution. This individual will serve as a highly capable contributor who can analyze complex problems, interpret operational realities, and drive high-quality implementation across the organization. You’ll partner closely with leaders across Operations, Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and the CEO on initiatives that strengthen our competitive position, sharpen our strategy, and materially improve our operating performance. This role is ideal for someone who excels in structured problem-solving, thrives in ambiguity, and enjoys both analytical depth and hands-on execution. What You’ll Do Process Optimization & Program Design Lead complex process evaluations and optimizations across mortgage operations and sales. Manage complicated business process optimizations in partnership with functional leaders. Build RACI-driven communication loops, ensure remediation (training, tooling, process redesign), and track impact over time. Cross-Functional Project Leadership Serve as the responsible owner for new cross-functional project launches. Lead high-stakes corporate and business initiatives such as Ensure structured planning, disciplined execution, and measurable outcomes. Competitive Positioning & Category Analysis Conduct deep category and competitive analysis to guide decisions on product, operational investments, and long-term positioning. Translate research into clear recommendations for leadership. Executive, Board & Investor Support Support the CEO and Finance in board materials, investor updates, strategic narratives, and research. Synthesize complex data into clear insights that support decision-making. Vendor Evaluation & Negotiation Support Participate in tracking, evaluating, and negotiating with third-party vendors. Build analyses that size value, assess ROI, and support selection decisions. Who You Are A structured, analytical thinker who applies rigor to identifying “the what,” paired with the EQ to understand “the why.” Capable of translating insights into actions and following through with disciplined execution. Skilled at influencing through using persuasion and working across technical and operational teams. Curious about mortgage operations, financial services, and operational excellence. Qualifications Required 6+ years at a top-tier management consulting firm (BCG, McKinsey, Bain), with experience in corporate strategy and multiple process optimization engagements. Demonstrated ability to break down complex problems and create clear frameworks, analyses, and recommendations. Strong project ownership skills with experience driving cross-functional execution. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including synthesis for senior audiences, especially in slide deck creation. Preferred Experience in fintech, mortgage, lending, real estate, or other regulated operational environments. Familiarity with operational KPIs, sales funnel analytics, and quality measurement frameworks. Comfort working with dashboards, analytical tools, or SQL (helpful but not required). Location: Hybrid – NYC (In office Monday–Wednesday) The expected annual compensation for this position will be between $150,000—$200,000 USD
