Exciting Ongoing opportunity Total remuneration package starts from $243,658 Office location flexible to all Revenue NSW locations and hybrid working arrangements available – Ability to travel to Parramatta is required About the role Revenue NSW is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our executive team as Director Business Taxes. This is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the collection of business taxes and royalties, customer compliance and education, administration of grants and rebates, and delivery of high-impact projects. The business taxes this role oversees include: Payroll Tax Mineral Royalties Insurance duty Gaming (clubs and hotels) Lottery duties Health Insurance Levy Point of Consumption Tax Keno As Director Business Taxes, you will: Lead a large, multidisciplinary team of tax and compliance experts, finance professionals, legal recovery specialists, and customer service staff. Drive the delivery of business tax programs that are fair, efficient, and customer-focused. Oversee compliance and education strategies to support voluntary compliance and improve customer experience. Manage the administration of grants and rebates, ensuring integrity and transparency. Deliver strategic projects, including the Unclaimed Monies Project, aimed at returning funds to the people of NSW. Provide expert advice to senior executives, the Minister for Finance, and key stakeholders across government and industry. We’re seeking an experienced leader who brings: Deep expertise in state taxes and the associated legislative frameworks Detailed knowledge of compliance frameworks, implementing education programs, financial accounting and business operations. Proven experience leading large, complex teams and delivering high-impact programs. Strong stakeholder engagement skills building relationships with NSW Treasury, Australian Taxation Office, Department of Customer Service, industry bodies, and legal/accounting professionals. A track record of navigating legislative and regulatory environments and delivering reform. A commitment to continuous improvement and customer-centric service delivery.
