Typical Accountabilities Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop long-term departmental goals and ensure alignment with the company’s overall R&D strategy. Lead and plan the strategic direction for product research and development. Support the Head of R&D in establishing management systems, development schemes, and operational processes. Product Development Guidance: Provide strategic and constructive input on R&D product planning. Offer insights and recommendations to senior management for decision-making. Support teams in troubleshooting and ensure timely delivery of all projects within defined timelines and quality standards. Budget & Plan Management: Develop and manage departmental R&D plans and budgets. Oversee the implementation and execution of R&D activities within the approved financial framework. Ensure effective cost control and on-time, on-budget completion of projects. Technology Innovation & Project Management: Lead the team in designing CAR-T products, developing new technologies, and filing related technical patents. Supervise project implementation within the department to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Operations, Clinical, Regulatory Affairs, and Process Development teams to support project submission and product registration. Ensure smooth execution of company objectives and timely completion of R&D milestones. Academic Research & Reporting: Lead the company’s academic research initiatives and external R&D progress reports. Organize manuscript submissions to high-impact international journals and presentations at global conferences. Enhance the company’s academic influence and promote international recognition of technological achievements. Resource Integration & Partnership: Coordinate internal and external resources within the company and the broader group to meet R&D and business development needs. Build and maintain collaborations with external partners, research institutions, and regulatory authorities to drive project advancement. Leadership & Motivation: Lead, inspire, and empower the R&D team to achieve high performance and innovation excellence. Other Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned by senior management. Academic / Professional Qualification Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, or related biomedical disciplines with 8–10 years of relevant R&D experience in the biopharmaceutical industry; or Master’s degree with 12+ years of related R&D experience. In-depth expertise in T-cell culture and engineering, molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry, and cell purification. Strong proficiency in CAR-T product design, experimental design and execution, plasmid construction and purification, viral vector production and purification, T-cell transduction and gene editing, peripheral blood and T-cell isolation (MACS sorting), ELISA, proliferation assays, PCR/qPCR, multicolor flow cytometry, and tumor cell cytotoxicity assays in vitro and in vivo. Minimum 3 years of R&D project and team management experience.
