Primary Function: The Director of the Center for Healthcare Education is a key leadership role within the Workforce Development and Community Partnerships division of Northampton Community College. This position requires a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or higher, responsible for overseeing all allied healthcare programming, ensuring alignment with industry needs, and maintaining the highest standards of educational excellence. The Director will collaborate closely with the Dean, School of Health Professions & Science, to develop and sustain business and industry partnerships, drive the creation of new programs, manage budgets, schedule classes and resources, lead accreditation processes, and collect and analyze program data. The Director will also work with the Vice President of Workforce Development and Community Partnerships on financial, enrollment, marketing, and program viability strategies, and may teach in their area of expertise as needed. Responsibilities: (1) Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all healthcare education programs within Workforce Development. (2) Collaborate with the Dean, School of Health Professions & Science and other academic leaders to ensure program quality, alignment across educational pathways, and compliance with regulatory standards. (3) Establish, maintain, and grow partnerships with local healthcare providers, businesses, and industry organizations to support student success and workforce needs. (4) Lead the development and launch of new healthcare programs in response to emerging industry trends and community needs. (5) Manage program budgets, including resource allocation, purchasing, and financial reporting. (6) Schedule classes, instructors, and resources to ensure efficient and effective program operations. (7) Lead and participate in all accreditation and regulatory site visits, ensuring programs meet or exceed all standards. (8) Collect, analyze, and report data on program performance, student outcomes, and industry impact. (9) Collaborate with the Vice President of Workforce Development and Community partnerships on strategies for financial sustainability, enrollment growth, marketing, and program viability. (10) Serve as an instructor in healthcare programs as needed, maintaining teaching credentials and subject matter expertise. (11) Represent the college at community events, industry meetings, and professional conferences. (12) Other duties as may be assigned. Organizational Relationships: (1) Reports to the Vice President for Workforce Development and Community Partnerships; (2) Works cooperatively with other work units of the college particularly with the offices of Academic Affairs and Community Education. Performance Standards: Performance in this position is considered satisfactory when: (1) mutually agreed upon objectives and goals are met within a specified time frame; (2) responsibilities of the position have been carried out at a level consistent with performance objectives; (3) effective cooperative relationships exist with healthcare education staff and other members of college administration. Qualifications: (1) Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required from a Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) approved Institutional Accreditor college or university required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Current RN license required; (2) Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Proficiency in budget management, data analysis, and strategic planning; (3) Experience: (a) Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare education or administration, preferably in a community college or workforce development setting. (b) 5-years’ experience in demonstrated leadership, organizational, and communication skills. (c) Demonstrated experience in program development, accreditation, and partnership management.
