Description
Avencera We’re an AI-native, human-led business built to help clients reimagine, reinvent, and lead their markets into the AI era. We bring the imagination, intellectual cut-through, execution smarts, and adaptive approach to collaboration required to help leaders deliver real change. Through our consulting practice, we work with clients in central Government, health and care, education – and increasingly with enterprise clients – across a combination of sophisticated strategy, innovation, transformation, and capability-building engagements. Through A WORKS we collaborate with thought leaders, innovators, and AI-specialist developers to tackle the biggest problems we face in public service, health and education – setting aside the consulting commercial model to work in whatever ways best solve the problem. In partnership with our AI-specialist development team, we’re building innovative new tools that will transform our clients’ organisations and customer experiences – some for clients on a consulting basis, some through A WORKS that we will take to market as products. We are a business powered by the passion, grit, insight, intellect, and execution-smarts of our people: a tightly knit team of market experts, willing to challenge market convention, and our colleagues, in pursuit of the transformational change we believe is possible. We have strong networks in central Government, including particularly social and economic policy Departments and agencies - and have delivered a wide range of operational policy, programme mobilisation, delivery and assurance projects. Our differentiated strength, though, is our work with strategic suppliers to Government - supporting their market strategy, pipeline ID, and specific deal capture, pursuit, bid, mobilisation and delivery. We launched our health and care practice in 2025, and have started incredibly strongly - having recruited colleagues with national, agency and Trust-level experience... and a qualified GP. Our early focus has been on health innovation and transformation - powered by some pioneering community-based engagements and partnerships. We’re looking for an experienced senior leader, with a proven track record for driving commercial performance and growth, to lead our work in the central Government and / or health markets – including our diversification into new segments, and exploration of where we should build and market AI solutions beyond our consulting propositions. You’ll have epic market insight, a ‘black book’ network, and the ability to deliver impact from day one. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. Role specification Work with our founder, managing director, senior leaders and colleagues across our business to shape, lead, and grow a business which disrupts consulting convention and helps clients shape how the markets we serve evolve into the AI era. Inspire, lead, support and develop colleagues across the firm – adding your distinct, authentic, self to the leadership of an ambitious business which is driven by a strong set of values, and high ambition for our markets, clients, colleagues, and collaborators. With support from our managing director and growth director, develop and execute a clear, compelling, growth strategy for the education market – including a clear view on where we play, how we differentiate, and how our top-line propositions should land with clients. Work with our growth director to craft and execute a sophisticated go to market plan to realise that growth strategy – including a combination of market positioning and influencing, digital and social marketing, thought leadership, events, and systematic client engagemen Work with our founder, colleagues, and collaborators through A WORKS to identify and bring to market new ways of solving the problems the education market faces – setting consulting commercial models on fire where they’re not the right way to achieve our goals. Work with our delivery director, engagement leads, colleagues and collaborators to oversee all client engagements in the education sector – ensuring that all our work with clients reflects our promise to bring intellect, imagination, insight, and execution smart to create real impact. Person specification Substantial, sophisticated, education market insights - from a policy, implementation, and commercial perspective. We expect that the successful candidate will have particularly strong networks in either Central Government or health; someone with both, we would welcome. High levels of ambition, energy and resilience, consistent with the firm’s plans for future diversification and growth. We expect that the successful candidate will join and value to what is already a hugely dynamic and progressive leadership team. Strong personal profile in the market, including established senior-level relationships with relevant stakeholders, target clients, and collaborator. We expect that the successful candidate will bring new relationships to Avencera from the outset. Track record for leading revenue generation and sustained growth in the education market, whether through consulting, technology and / or other services – including through personal leadership of customer engagement and informal sales processes. Exceptional discipline expertise in either strategy, innovation, transformation and / or learning. We expect that the successful candidate will oversee delivery of consistently brilliant client work, and support colleagues to improve their practice through our work. Strong intellect, intellectual agility, and imagination – consistent with our dedication to being the partner leaders need to reimagine, reinvent, and deliver real change in the AI era. We expect that the successful candidate will help our clients think differently. Strong leadership and coaching skillset, consistent with our ambition for growth – and our commitment to invest in, and develop, our people such that they fulfil their potential through our organisational growth journey.
