Work Shift Job Summary: The Director, Clinical Operations Digital Health is a licensed registered nurse and an essential leader responsible for establishing and maintaining excellence in clinical practice within Digital Health. This leader oversees and manages a diverse team including Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Medical Assistants (CMAs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Paramedics, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), and other clinical support staff. As a key member of the Digital Health leadership team, the Clinical Operations Director will partner with Operational Leaders to provide clinical expertise, lead protocol and process development, and support strategic initiatives that drive the success of Digital Health program operations. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Clinical Leadership & Exemplary Practice a. Serve as the clinical voice and subject matter expert for nursing and clinical operations within Digital Health, promoting high standards of practice aligned with organizational goals, scope of practice, and regulatory requirements. b. Oversee the development, implementation, and adherence to clinical policies, procedures, standing orders, and protocols. c. Maintain clear role definitions and scope of practice for all licensed and unlicensed clinical staff, ensuring compliance with professional nursing standards and legal regulations. d. Collaborate with departments and key stakeholders to advance Digital Health operations, ensuring strategic initiatives align with the continuity and quality of care required for both patients and care teams. e. Foster a culture of patient safety, quality outcomes, evidence-based practice, and high reliability in clinical processes. Collaboration & Interdisciplinary Teamwork a. Cultivate a collaborative and supportive environment promoting interdisciplinary teamwork and professional practice standards. b. Build strong partnerships with operational leaders, medical staff, and external stakeholders to enhance patient care delivery and digital health integration. c. Facilitate open communication and shared governance practices to support diverse perspectives, innovative thinking, and continuous improvement. d. Contribute to budgeting and resource allocation to support operational goals and clinical service needs. Workforce Development & Staff Management a. Lead recruitment, onboarding, retention, and professional development of a multidisciplinary clinical workforce including RNs, CMAs, LPNs, Paramedics, EMTs, and clinical support staff along with the Digital Health leadership team. b. Champion workforce engagement, empowerment, and shared decision-making to build a committed, competent, and resilient team. c. Oversee performance management, professional growth opportunities, and mechanisms to recognize clinical excellence within digital health operations. d. Support clinical competency development through collaboration with system leadership (WMG, hospital guidelines and competencies), education, and training teams Professional Growth & Leadership Development a. Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance leadership skills, clinical knowledge, and Digital Health expertise. b. Foster a culture of continuous learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adaptability within the clinical team. c. Represent the digital health clinical operations function positively within the organization and professional community. d. Mentor and develop emerging clinical leaders, supporting autonomy, involvement, and empowerment in their roles. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct. Required Minimum Education: Bachelors in Nursing is required. Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact-Preferred Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 7 years experience as a Registered Nurse is required. Minimum 5 years progressive nursing leadership in a clinic or inpatient setting is required. Minimum 2 years experience with Digital Health programs is strongly preferred. Required Minimum Skills: Extensive leadership experience managing clinical teams including RNs, CMAs, and other clinical support staff Strong knowledge of Digital Health, ambulatory care operations, and nursing practice standards Demonstrated ability to lead strategic clinical initiatives aligned with organizational priorities Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and collaboration skills In-depth understanding of healthcare regulations, patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice Commitment to fostering an inclusive, professional, and patient-centered work environment Join us and discover the support to do more meaningful work—and enjoy a more rewarding life.
