Description Position Title: Director, Clinical Systems and Automation Specialist Hiring Manager: Yingsi Yang Position Type: Full-time Ideal start date: Nov 1, 2025 Position: We are seeking a proactive Clinical Systems & Automation Specialist to support and enhance the technology needs of our Biometrics department. This role combines specialized IT/software support with opportunities to develop automation and AI-driven tools that improve efficiency and data quality in clinical trial workflows. You will work with cutting-edge biometrics platforms (SAS, R, Python, Medidata RAVE), to optimize workflows, and partner with biostatistics and data science experts to apply innovative solutions to clinical trial execution. The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting complex systems while also building creative, scalable solutions for data science and clinical research teams. This position reports to the Head of Biostatistics. Key Responsibilities: ? Provide technical support for biometrics software and platforms, including SAS, R, Python, and clinical data management systems. ? Troubleshoot installation, configuration, licensing, and performance issues. ? Collaborate with biometrics, IT, and data science teams to understand workflow challenges. ? Develop and maintain scripts, macros, and small automation tools to streamline reporting, QC, and data handling. ? Explore opportunities for AI/ML and advanced automation (e.g., NLP, chatbots, workflow automation) and pilot solutions with biometrics stakeholders. ? Ensure systems comply with IT security, data integrity, and regulatory requirements. ? Provide documentation, training, and best practices for supported tools and workflows. Requirements ? Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Biostatistics, or related field. ? Proficiency in R and Python, and experience supporting statistical programming environments. ? Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. ? Familiarity with clinical data workflows and biometrics/clinical team needs. Preferred: ? Experience with automation or AI/ML tools in Python, R, or cloud platforms. ? Familiarity with regulatory standards (GCP, CDISC). ? Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and database systems (SQL)
