Description

The Director, Commercial, APAC, under the Construction team, will spearhead all commercial management functions across the Asia-Pacific region, focusing on cost control, contract management, and financial planning to ensure efficient project execution. This role is pivotal in overseeing project budgets, forecasting expenditures, and conducting rigorous financial analysis to support Vantage’s construction efforts within the APAC region. By implementing cost-effective strategies and leading negotiations with vendors and contractors, the Director will contribute to delivering projects on time and within budget, all while maintaining compliance with company standards and regional regulations.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Project Delivery, APAC, the Director, Commercial will play a critical role in liaising between internal teams and external partners, optimizing procurement processes, and managing supplier relationships to support project delivery. This role requires strong collaboration with project managers, cost estimators, and other cross-functional teams to drive process improvements, support contract administration, and identify cost-saving opportunities. As a leader within the construction team, the Director will provide strategic insights to influence long-term planning and contribute to Vantage’s growth and presence in the APAC market.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial management within the construction industry, with a strong background in managing cost control, contract administration, and financial planning across large-scale projects. Previous experience in the data center or mission-critical facilities sector is preferred.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, with at least 5 years in a management role. Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide team members, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis, as well as strong negotiation skills for supplier and vendor contracts. Familiarity with procurement strategies and supply chain management specific to the construction sector.
  • Solid understanding of regional compliance and regulatory standards in the APAC construction market, ensuring that all commercial practices align with local laws and company policies.
