ENVISION YOURSELF AT BARRACUDA

Barracuda is looking for an exceptional attorney who can direct the Company’s commercial contracts and licensing efforts in EMEA, and who can assist with supporting larger corporate initiatives like M&A due diligence, privacy and data protection, and employment mattes. This role will report to the Vice President, Commercial Contracts.
You will be a critical, highly visible, and impactful member of the legal department and a true partner to the business. This is a role in which you will interact daily with Sales leaders, partners, outside counsel, senior executives, and other business stakeholders, such as Finance and Sales Operations. This role is “hands-on” and requires that you provide a variety of commercial and contractual advice and legal services to internal clients, with a primary focus on enabling the go-to-market (GTM) activities of the company and supporting the company’s continued growth and expansion. You will also provide support for key business initiatives relating to Sales and drive transactional process improvements.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Substantial experience relating to software and SaaS centric issues, such as revenue recognition, privacy, security, GDPR, intellectual property rights, etc.
  • Capacity to evaluate and drive process and document change, where needed, to accomplish business results.
  • Ability to provide training to the sales and services teams on processes, compliance, and new legislation.
Responsibilities
  • Have a UK LLB/LLB or equivalent legal qualification with 10+ years of relevant in-house experience in complex commercial transactions. Experience with enterprise software and SaaS businesses is required. Channel sales experience is preferred.
  • Business acumen, with the demonstrated ability to balance business needs and legal risks.
  • Deep understanding of practical legal concerns in commercial and technology transactions that is demonstrated by a pragmatic approach to smart risk allocation.
  • Solid knowledge of business process relating to sales (both direct and channel sales), inbound contracts, and intellectual property.
  • Familiarity with data privacy law and digital security law.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal team members throughout the company.
  • Ability to drive results across geographies.
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Sound judgment to interpret complicated matters and communicate effectively with key stakeholders towards resolution.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time, and client expectations, in the face of competing demands.
  • Have a strong work ethic and sense of professionalism and discretion, demonstrating accountability, integrity, good judgment, and respect for confidentiality.
  • Ability to operate autonomously while being a team player who brings a positive, “get things done” attitude to the workplace and works collaboratively with internal and external clients.
