Description The Director of Commercial Operations is a senior leadership role responsible for driving core commercial processes and leading the execution of complex, cross-functional initiatives across the organization. This role oversees all major commercial operational activities, including sales meetings, healthcare conferences and exhibits, speaker programs, Promotional Review Committee (PRC), vendor management, and promotional asset management. The Director supports both product launches and ongoing commercial execution by building, leading, and scaling Commercial Operations capabilities across current brands and pipeline initiatives. This role partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders including Regulatory Affairs, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Sales & Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and Legal/Compliance to ensure effective, compliant, and efficient commercial execution. The Director of Commercial Operations leads and develops a team of Marketing and Sales Operations professionals and balances strategic planning with hands-on operational execution to enable commercial success and organizational scalability. Requirements Responsibilities (included but not limited to): Commercial Operations Leadership Partner with Brand and Sales leadership to plan and execute field sales meetings, including Launch Meetings, National and Regional Sales Meetings, Train-the-Trainer sessions, and POAs Oversee key commercial operations functions, including but not limited to: o Promotional Review Committee (PRC) processes o Promotional programming (e.g., speaker programs, conferences, exhibits, sponsorships) o Promotional materials and asset management (inventory, distribution, and tracking) o Sales operations support o Vendor selection, onboarding, and performance management Strategic Planning & Execution Contribute to and execute the commercial operations roadmap to support scalability and long-term growth, including identification and implementation of new technologies and process improvements. Support launch readiness and execution for new and existing products, ensuring operational excellence throughout the product lifecycle Lead or contribute to special projects and enterprise-wide initiatives as assigned Cross-Functional Collaboration & Governance Provide functional leadership, guidance, and subject-matter expertise while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement particularly within the PRC process Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across marketing, sales, analytics, medical, regulatory, and other commercial functions Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors, agencies, and service providers Performance, Budget & Process Management Develop, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and continuously improve commercial operations effectiveness Manage the commercial operations budget, identifying opportunities for efficiency, optimization, and value creation Develop, implement, and continuously improve policies, procedures, and operational tools related to sales meetings, PRC, vendor onboarding, and promotional material management Ensure all activities comply with regulatory, legal, and corporate compliance standards Education/Experience/Skills: Bachelor’s degree required; life sciences background strongly preferred 8+ years of experience in marketing, commercial operations, or related leadership roles within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences organizations Demonstrated experience supporting or leading product launches for newly approved therapies Experience in rare disease markets, particularly neurological diseases strongly preferred Strong understanding of life sciences customers, market dynamics, and commercial drivers Proven track record of meeting business objectives, KPIs, and performance goals Demonstrated people leadership and team development capabilities Working knowledge of regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements impacting commercial operations Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills Proficiency with Salesforce, Tableau, and/or related commercial systems Strong organizational, project management, and prioritization skills Analytical mindset with creative problem-solving abilities and the ability to evaluate and optimize tactics and content effectiveness Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities High ethical standards and commitment to compliant commercial conduct Valid driver’s license required Travel and Other Work-Related Requirements: Regular domestic travel throughout the U.S., including routine travel to Catalyst headquarters in Coral Gables, FL Occasional international travel based on business needs Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required during peak business periods such as product launches and national sales meetings This role requires frequent interaction with internal and external stakeholders as a senior commercial leader representing Catalyst; professional, ethical, and compliant conduct is required at all times Catalyst is committed to providing competitive wages and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance, generous paid time off, a retirement savings plan with Company Match, and more. Candidate experience, professional licensing, and geographic location will be taken into consideration.
