The Director, Compensation & Benefits plays a critical role in shaping a Total Rewards strategy that balances fairness, competitiveness, compliance, and long-term sustainability across the Americas. What You’ll Own You will lead Total Rewards across the region, with responsibility for strategy, execution, and governance. Specifically, you will: Set and execute the Total Rewards strategy across compensation, benefits, payroll, HR systems, wellness, recognition, and compliance Act as a strategic advisor to HR leadership, Finance, and senior executives on compensation and benefits decisions Ensure pay and benefits programs are competitive, cost-effective, and aligned with market trends and internal equity Oversee the annual benefits enrollment process, performance-based bonus payouts, and salary reviews Oversee payroll operations across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, including outsourced providers and approval processes Lead the design and administration of benefits, retirement, leave, and recognition programs Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including ERISA, ACA, FMLA, and regional requirements Manage HR systems and personnel data (ADP, SuccessFactors, and related platforms), ensuring accuracy, security, and integrity Oversee expatriate compensation, benefits, and mobility programs Design, evaluate, and manage internal compensation structures, and bonus programs to align with business objectives. Manage internal salary benchmarking tools including; data analysis & resourcing, with knowledge of Mercer, Korn Ferry and Western Mgt vendors. Lead, develop, and mentor a small but impactful Total Rewards team Develop and implement leave policies and procedures, manage employee leave requests and track leave balances and provide guidance and support to employees and managers on leave-related matters. Manage all supporting vendors related to total rewards: Third Party (Empower, ADP, CIGNA, Benefits brokers and 401k Advisors) What Success Looks Like In your first 12–18 months, you will have: Established a clear Total Rewards roadmap aligned to business and talent priorities Recommend and design new Health and Welfare programs Implemented new systems to support total rewards Partner with Global Compensation team to determine proper salary benchmarks, position analysis, source data, and compensation pay analysis. Create and modernized key programs and engagement related to Employer choice/branding to highlight programs and offerings Partner with Talent team to develop salary benchmarks and targets Improved clarity, consistency, and communication around Total Rewards across the organization Developed a high-performing, trusted Total Rewards function Negotiate with benefits providers, brokers, and insurance carriers, and manage the compensation/benefits budget This Role Is For You If… You enjoy operating at the intersection of people strategy, data, and business performance You’re comfortable advising senior leaders on complex, sensitive topics You have significant experience developing total rewards programs including health care, retirement planning, wellness and compensation programs You bring both rigor and pragmatism to decision-making You care deeply about fairness, transparency, and long-term thinking The Experience We’re Looking For Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of progressive HR experience with deep expertise in compensation, benefits, and payroll Minimum 3 years of experience managing and developing a team. Proven experience leading Total Rewards strategy in a complex organization Strong working knowledge of compensation design, benefits administration, retirement plans, payroll (ADP), and leave management Experience of working with insurance brokers including negotiating of renewals, RFP’s and Plan Design.
