The Director, Compensation drives the development, implementation, and maintenance of Verisign's compensation function. This position plans, develops and implements compensation programs, policies, procedures, in order to be responsive to the company's goals and competitive practices. The role is also responsible for the design and administration of the Company’s recognition programs and human capital analytics. Key responsibilities: Designs, develops, socializes and manages Verisign’s compensation policies, procedures, and programs, including job analysis, job evaluation and pricing, incentive and recognition programs. Manages the consolidation of workforce reporting and analytics along with the design and maintenance of HR Dashboards to highlight trends and enable workforce decisions in concert of HRIS. Monitors legislation that may affect compensation policies and researches trends in executive compensation. Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures recommending plan revision as well as new plans and processes which are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and Verisign’s objectives Manages the preparation of job descriptions, conducting job evaluation and salary surveys, establishing salary structures, and developing salary budgets Manages activities of the Compensation department and provides supervision, development opportunities and direction to analysts. An ideal candidate is data-driven and passionate about continuous improvement. They can visually present and communicate data, analyses and findings in a clear and concise manner. Qualifications: 12+ years of progressively responsible relevant compensation experience, including executive compensation 4+ years of managerial experience Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to compensation base and incentive compensation programs; company policies and operations Knowledge of and experience with compensation theories, practices, salary surveys, market pricing, job evaluation and incentive plans Proficient in MS Office with a strong understanding of PowerPoint and Excel including formulas, charts, graphs, pivot tables and other advanced capabilities Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with top management Strong analytical, attention to detail and organization skills High degree of professionalism and confidentiality Strong communication and problem-solving skills Comfortable with a certain degree of ambiguity 4-year Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent work experience, is required; Graduate degree in Business, Human Resources or a related field is preferred Preferred Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Experience with Payscale/MarketPay Experience in the high technology industry Familiarity with SuccessFactors a plus Experience with human capital analytics and recognition programs This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a hybrid work schedule. The pay range is $164,300 - $222,300. The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
