Description
Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Indirect Procurement, you will play a pivotal role and be responsible in leading procurement & sourcing efforts for major construction projects in Japan. You will lead a dedicated team of procurement professionals, partnering with multiple collaborators, responsible for managing the procurement process for major construction projects from start to finish, ensuring best in class. You will participate and actively lead these projects, including reporting to the senior leadership on its progress. Your primary deliverable is to ensure the greatest value of each major construction contract which requires but not limited to, strong sourcing (negotiating), contracting, supplier management skills. Strategic Planning and Execution; Develop comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with the company's objectives. Plan and initiate new projects, including setting timelines, budgets, and resource allocation Performance Management; Establish & monitor performance metrics to identify and implement continual improvement opportunities Project Oversight and Management: Oversee multiple construction procurement projects simultaneously, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets. Monitor project progress and implement adjustments as necessary. Drive objectives and creating a vision that delivers projects safely, cost effectively and in a timely manner Stakeholder Communication and Relationship Management; Collaborate with internal partners and interested parties to deliver strategic solutions and coordinate approach to key strategic suppliers Possess a Bachelors' Degree or above and at least 10 years of work experience in construction and/or procurement specializing in construction An exceptional leader with a proven track record in tendering and contracting for hundreds-million-dollar projects Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive strategic initiatives in a highly organized and adaptable manner Excellent communication skills with the ability to converse in both English and Japanese. Able to work & collaborate at all levels and influence interested parties without direct authority. Passionate about driving improvements and achieving operational excellence.
