KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead the strategic direction, planning, decision making and overall performance of PCO’s Corporate Services and Operations functions and team, ensuring strong customer service, contemporary best practice and support of PCO objectives, including by:
  • leading and directing PCO’s corporate services and operations functions through effective management of team members and resources;
  • providing direction, work allocation, professional development and performance management to a multi-disciplinary team of professional employees in a way that ensures team members deliver high quality outcomes and develop the capabilities to meet PCO’s current and future needs;
  • developing and implementing strategies to improve work practices, systems and processes across PCO to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement a customer centric approach across PCO’s corporate services and operations functions and through the delivery of integrated service offerings to ensure the service offerings meet PCO’s and the community’s needs
  • Model best practice employee management and act as a thought leader for all aspects of an integrated corporate services and operations function providing strong counsel and guidance on all people and culture, strategic, legislative access, financial, governance, risk and property matters
  • Lead PCO’s risk, finance and internal audit functions, including ensuring the necessary risk management, governance frameworks, financial and other systems and internal controls are in place to enable PCO to maintain compliance with all relevant policies and legislative, financial and statutory requirements including in relation to cybersecurity
  • Initiate and lead consultations, collaboration, and, as required, negotiations with internal and external services and operation strategies, services and support are efficient, continually-improving and meet current and likely future stakeholder and PCO and community needs and expectations, including in relation to legislative access
  • Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of corporate and operational policies, procedures and systems to ensure compliance with all legislative, administrative and professional requirements
  • Participate as a member of PCO’s senior leadership team and contribute to organisational decision making, planning and continual improvement to efficiently and effectively deliver programs that support organisational priorities

Responsibilities

The Director, Corporate Services and Operations is responsible for leading and managing a multi-disciplinary team that leads PCO’s people and culture, information technology (including cyber security), procurement, risk, finance, internal audit, project delivery, and legislation access functions. The role, and the team the role leads and manages, provides customer-focused corporate and operational services that enable PCO to meet its objectives. The role provides timely, expert and strategic information and advice to PCO’s senior leadership team to facilitate effective decisions. The role provides strong leadership to the delivery of integrated corporate services and operations, with a specific focus on employee engagement and contributing to making PCO a great place to work.
