The successful candidate will play a key role in Pomerleau’s development by supporting the VP – Strategy and Corporate Development in the execution of their mandate.The Strategy and Corporate Development team works closely with senior leadership and other executives to identify Pomerleau’s key strategic directions and ensure profitable growth. More specifically, the team is responsible for assessing market opportunities and threats, recommending and prioritizing strategic initiatives, monitoring the execution of the company’s strategic plan, and leading mergers and acquisitions activities. Collaboration and communication with various stakeholders are essential to ensure the success of these initiatives and to foster a collaborative work environment. The successful candidate will work closely with leaders from different business units and representatives from corporate functions to support them in identifying, evaluating, and making decisions on a variety of strategic opportunities and directions.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Identify and lead strategic opportunity analysis mandates by developing business plans and formulating recommendations to support decision-making by senior leadership.
  • Develop and present effective business cases to enable informed decision-making.
  • Support the execution and monitoring of strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure the follow-up and updating of the corporate strategic plan’s
  • implementation by collaborating with internal teams and external consultants in the collection, analysis, and formulation of strategic initiative recommendations.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of the industry and competitive landscape,
  • identify key industry trends impacting the company, and uncover associated growth opportunities.
  • Supervise, coach, and support the development of team members to foster engagement and talent retention.

THIS ROLE COULD BE FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE

  • 10 to 15 years of experience, including one or more years in a strategy consulting firm or within corporate development/strategy departments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or MBA — an asset.
