The Opportunity The Cost Accounting Director is a strategic and operational leader responsible for all aspects of cost accounting across Allegro MicroSystems' global manufacturing operations. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining robust cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and manufacturing variance analysis. The Director will provide critical financial insights to operations, engineering, and product management teams, supporting strategic decision-making, cost reduction initiatives, and profitability improvement What You Will Do Lead the development and execution of strategic cost accounting initiatives, including systems transformation, process automation, and analytics capabilities. Partner with Finance leadership to align cost accounting with company strategy, profitability goals, and margin optimization. Oversee policy development for product costing, inventory valuation, standard costs, and overhead absorption methodologies. Understand and develop process for unique areas that impact cost accounting, e.g., Vendor Managed Inventory. Provide executive-level insights into cost structures, manufacturing efficiency, and supply chain performance. Drive change management, including evaluation and adoption of new technologies or ERP systems (Oracle upgrade). Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and SOX requirements. Align with cost accounting sr. Manager to oversee cost accounting, inventory, fixed assets and related month-end close processes for all entities worldwide. Oversee cost accounting sr. Manager to ensure accurate roll-up and update of Oracle standard cost and calculation of transfer price. Reviews and understand Probe/Assembly/Test variance to standards, PPV and trends. Reviews and understand job lot variance, assembly yield variance, cycle time and trends. Develops cost projections for COGS and COGS components. Understand cost analyses and accounting entries of the cost, inventory and fixed asset teams. Ensures that issues on raw material shortage in shop floor, expiration and usage rate are attended to. Participates in streamlining and managing an effective cost accounting system, cost and budget analysis and review. Supports adhoc projects, and other duties as assigned by the immediate head. Mentor and develop cost accounting leaders and build a strong pipeline of talent. What You Will Bring Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Certified Public Accountant is an advantage At least 12 years of relevant work experience in Cost Accounting in a manufacturing set up At least 5 years managerial experience Deep knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, and variance analysis Strong track record of driving strategic projects, system implementations, and process improvements Unquestionable integrity Strong leadership skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to easily relate with people in various levels of the organization.
