The Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer was established in 2023 with the mission of empowering our customers and colleagues to take on the world, by seamlessly delivering secure and reliable digital experiences. Digital & Technology Solutions has set out to achieve the following objectives for EDC:

  • Define, execute, and sustain the integrated technology target state, target data model and technology operations required to enable EDC’s 2030 business transformation.
  • Establish and manage the rolling 3 Year Digital Roadmap that sequences the technology outcomes required to achieve the technology target state and facilitate its execution across all domains in the organization.
  • Keep pace with industry trends and emerging technologies, ensuring EDC has access to the digital technology tools it needs to stay relevant in the market and grow Canadian global trade.

  • We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic Director, Cybersecurity Digital Identity and Access Management (IAM) to lead Enterprise cybersecurity team and efforts, ensuring that EDCs identities and access management capabilities remain effective an ever-evolving digital landscape.
  • Reporting into the Vice-President & Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Director of Digital IAM is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, development, and management of the organization’s IAM capabilities.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security, integrity, and efficiency of the organization’s IAM systems, processes, and policies. As a strategic leader, they will manage a team of digital identity professionals and collaborate with internal departments and external partners to reduce identity-related risks and align IAM strategies with business and risk management objectives. They will oversee key IAM functions such as IGA, AM, PAM, and CIAM, while implementing innovative programs to protect identities and information assets. This role requires practical expertise in cybersecurity across global enterprise networks and the broader digital ecosystem. The individual will work proactively with stakeholders to maintain controls aligned with security standards. They will also manage cybersecurity initiatives that support business priorities, while clearly communicating the importance and value of cybersecurity across all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the IAM strategy aligned with the organization’s overall security objectives and business goals.
  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IAM professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • IAM Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IAM function, ensuring effective management of user identities, access controls, and authentication mechanisms.
  • Policy Development: Establish and enforce IAM policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Technology Management: Evaluate, select, and implement IAM technologies and tools to enhance the organization’s security posture.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate IAM-related risks through regular assessments and audits, while collaborating with risk partners to provide expertise and represent IAM in cross-functional initiatives that drive risk reduction and strategic priorities.
  • Leadership Council: Chair the Identity and Access Management Cross-Functional Leadership Council.
  • Partnerships: Establish strong partnerships with channels and service communities accountable for building and integrating into IAM services.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication: Partner with technology and business channels to develop a control program and promote control adoption, foster a customer-focused culture to strengthen client relationships, and effectively communicate IAM strategies and performance to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Governance and Process Improvement: Develop and enforce IAM policies and standards, promote best practices through governance and design frameworks, and drive continuous process improvements to ensure compliance and effective service delivery.
  • Program, Portfolio Management: Ensure alignment and collaboration with Cyber Program function, and enterprise EPMO functions to manage and execute effective IAM portfolio of grow and transform.
  • Compliance: Ensure business strategies, plans, and initiatives are executed in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Consulting: Provide consulting and guidance on cybersecurity initiatives, including business case preparation and developing creative approaches to problem resolution.
