POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Data Science & Analytics at Chromalloy Material Solutions (CMS) will lead enterprise-wide data strategy, transforming CMS through advanced analytics and AI driven insights to optimize gas turbine engine overhaul, part repair, and part development.
This role is not available for new/future sponsorship, transfer, or renewal of nonimmigrant work visas.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s degree (graduate degree preferred) in data science, computer science, statistics, engineering, or closely related field.
- 10+ years’ of relevant analytics or data management expertise
- Experience with Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Data Bricks or similar modern data stacks.
- Prior leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility
- Business acumen and ability to develop and enunciate plans and strategies to business leaders.
- Expertise in database development, statistical analysis, AI/ML technologies, and data architecture and integration.
- Knowledge of aircraft or aero derivative engine or component MRO Industry,
- Understanding of aero-engine propulsion, APU, and turbomachinery parts design or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of MRO industry standards, FAA compliance, safety standards, and best practices.
- Strong project management skills; PMI certification is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical info to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence across groups and work with senior management.

Responsibilities:
- Identify, access and digitize relevant data sources and sets from internal CMS operations as well as external partners and customers.
- Build, lead, and mentor a world-class data science and analytics team.
- Design and implement a comprehensive and robust data governance framework.
- Deploy AI and analytical tools to analyze operational and part history data to assess relevant trends and patterns for failure modes of gas turbine components.
- Partner with SIOP teams to improve order-to-cash cycles and shop turn times.
- Enhance engine asset valuation models with the CMS asset management team.
- Work with the CMS powerplant team to optimize overhaul strategies for engines.
- Develop data models for aeroderivative engine shop visits and energy markets.
- Explore revenue opportunities through proprietary analytics.
- Create data lakes with structured and unstructured data sets for all relevant engine families and part components.
- Develop a roadmap for failure modes and replacement needs.
- Collaborate with engineering to help identify high ROI opportunities in DER/PMA new product development.
