Description

The Director & Deputy Compliance Officer are deputy heads of the compliance department and responsible for assisting the CCO with oversight of the day-to-day management of the company’s compliance and risk management program. Responsible for assisting the CCO in oversight of the Corporate Ethics and Compliance Program, including coordinating and monitoring training regarding compliance with laws, regulations, and
Corporate policies and procedures. Coordinate investigations of alleged violations of policies and procedures. Responsible for monitoring all contractual agreements, ensuring compliance with corporate policies. This includes oversight of regulatory compliance with applicable State and/or Federal requirements.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Function independently displaying excellent judgement and with initiative and approachability to collaborate with business leadership, clinical staff, providers, and administration to provide effective Compliance leadership in the areas for which s/he is responsible.
  • Implement assigned portions of the Compliance Program and provide ongoing compliance risk management plans, internal operational compliance reviews and audits, corrective action plans and oversight to external, State, and Federal audits for those areas.
  • Ensure systems and processes are created and maintained as needed to track, trend and manage compliance notifications, issues, audit results etc. and that those data are used to drive the Compliance Program.
  • Design and execute operational monitoring plan of key compliance indicators and metrics for assigned areas.
  • Implement and oversee the ongoing operation of the Compliance Program in the business by creating, organizing and nurturing the partnership process between the Compliance Department and operational/functional areas.
  • Direct and lead complex compliance projects, researching and applying comprehensive knowledge of best practices, health care policy, and government regulations to ensure superior outcomes.
  • Analyze government regulations, polices and legislation to identify impact on business operations, policies and planning and works with business owners to address the impact as necessary.
  • Act as key leader and contributor to the assigned business’ annual risk assessment.
  • Ensure corrective actions are implemented and effective within assigned areas.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare, or other related field required, Masters degree preferred.
  • Healthcare Compliance Certification
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a healthcare compliance role.
  • Previous experience leading compliance in an auditing role.
  • Previous experience with billing and coding clinical and surgery center claims.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of federal (including HIPAA) and state regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Good computer software skills and knowledge
  • Must have risk assessment and research skills to identify compliance risks.
  • Moral integrity to understand and promote complying with rules and regulations.
  • Ability to plan, organize and direct compliance services.
  • Review and evaluate the work of compliance staff and auditors.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English. Additional languages preferred.
