NLC is currently seeking a dynamic Development Strategist with a successful track record prospecting and cultivating key relationships with foundations and other funding sources that achieve high impact fundraising goals.

OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience developing and leading foundation and grant development strategies, managing the grant development pipeline, targets, and working collaboratively with senior executives on grant forecasting.
  • Ability to drive catalytic change necessary to develop and design innovative solutions that anticipate or align with the foundation and grant current and future landscape.
  • Ability to guide strategy development and monitor proposal submissions including implementing proactive stewardship plans for funders.
  • Experience with capacity building and training staff on fundraising best practices and tools for effective philanthropic engagement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, non-profit development, or related area. Candidate will have 10-12 years of progressive experience in foundation relations and grant development.
  • Experience in a nonprofit environment, preferably working with local governments or on issues concerning cities, towns and villages.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience building foundation relationships, including a history of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
