ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in a scientific field.
  • Substantial experience in the pharmaceutical industry or CRO with robust understanding of Drug Development Processes and Oncology Clinical Trials.
  • Strong Clinical Development and/or Clinical Operations knowledge gained through hands-on experience in designing or operationalizing cancer trials.
  • Broad knowledge of the current challenges and opportunities digital health tools offer to improve clinical trials in Oncology.
  • Practical experience in Digital Health Technologies that support decentralized clinical trials (e.g. eConsent, eCOA, telemedicine, innovative patient recruitment, remote patient monitoring tools, etc.).
  • Proven experience in leading and influencing strategically and persuading thoughtfully, to acquire desired outcomes while maintaining effective, positive, organizational relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to build clarity from ambiguity.
  • Prior experience in working collaboratively in a cross functional setting with internal as well as external partners.
  • Strong influencing and senior stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo, take ownership and hold self and others accountable.
  • Transformational leadership of functional and cross functional team.
  • Passion for customers, representing the needs of multiple customers in decision making.

PREFERRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MD or Advanced degree (Doctorate and/or MBA).
  • Strong Scientific and Medical understanding of the Oncology Therapy Area.
  • Comprehensive understanding of dynamics affecting the pharmaceutical industry and needs for transformation.
  • Ability to work globally including international travel.
  • Well-developed project management skills, including handling vendors, budgets, timelines and risks.

Responsibilities

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Director, Digital Health Strategy role in the Oncology therapy area. You will be a key member of the Digital Health Strategy & Innovation team, playing a leading role in coordinating digital health strategies to support a portfolio of innovative medicines in Oncology.
Specifically, in this role you will work closely with partners within Oncology Global Product Teams (GPTs) as well as expert functions to build Digital Health Strategies for Clinical Programmes and/or disease areas. This entails bringing together subject matter experts in clinical development and operations, patient recruitment, remote clinical data improving collection, data analysis, patient support and other capabilities to make recommendations for digital solutions that will make the clinical trials for those programmes/disease areas cheaper, faster, and more patient-centric.

Additionally, you will:

  • Upskill clinical study teams on digital health solutions, improving their understanding on the opportunities for adoption and value generation.
  • Ensure effective and transparent risk, opportunity and proactive issues management at strategic, tactical and operational levels.
  • Build cases for the development of new digital capabilities
  • Grow and maintain internal and external relationships with partners in Oncology R&D and commercial organisation, key markets and external leaders to ensure prioritised needs are met in everything we do.
