With over 34 million weekly customers, we are committed to delivering an easy, exciting, and personalized digital shopping experience. This role is a unique opportunity to drive innovation and make a significant impact on customer satisfaction and business growth.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Director of eCommerce Fulfillment Initiatives, you will play a critical leadership role in defining and optimizing our delivery network and fulfillment strategies. You will:

  • Architect scalable, customer-centric delivery solutions.
  • Collaborate with product teams to shape the roadmap and introduce differentiated features that drive growth and customer value.
  • Champion the customer journey by conducting competitive analysis and journey mapping to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Manage key performance metrics including shipping methods, delivery speed, pricing, P&L impact, and on-time fulfillment.
  • Design and implement sustainable processes that enable best-in-class performance across local markets.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

The grocery industry is still in the early stages of its eCommerce evolution. This role offers a rare opportunity to shape the future of online grocery shopping and position Albertsons as a leader in eCommerce. If you’re ready to take on a high-impact challenge and help redefine how customers shop for groceries online, we’d love to hear from you.
The position will be based out of Boise ID or Pleasanton CA. Approximately 25% travel will be required to interact with division teams.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead Strategic Growth Initiatives: Spearhead eCommerce expansion efforts, including digitizing fresh departments, integrating new first-party (1P) and third-party (3P) storefronts into Albertsons’ digital ecosystem, and scaling partner pick operations.
  • Drive Cross-Functional Productivity: Oversee national and divisional eCommerce productivity initiatives, focusing on improving picking efficiency, minimizing customer refunds, and streamlining payment and reconciliation processes.
  • Enhance Associate Safety: Implement new processes and technology solutions to reduce in-store and delivery-related injuries. Supervise safety team resources to centralize and promote safety process improvement across all divisions in partnership with division safety teams.
  • Optimize Operational Workflows: Leverage automation and AI to reduce administrative burden and increase field engagement for divisional operations teams, focusing on using data tools to enhance the effectiveness of Operations Managers.
  • Improve Inventory and Shelf Health: Collaborate with backstage departments and product teams to develop and deploy solutions that reduce out-of-stock occurrences in eCommerce orders and improve overall shelf health.
  • Communicate Strategic Vision: Develop and deliver high-impact eCommerce communication tools that clearly articulate strategic plans, initiative roadmaps, and progress updates. Simplify complex challenges into actionable recommendations for the broader eCommerce organization.
  • Influence Cross-Functional Stakeholders: Build strong relationships and drive results across diverse teams and stakeholders through effective communication and strategic influence.
  • Explore Growth and Efficiency Opportunities: Own and develop a roadmap of experiments and special projects aimed at uncovering new growth opportunities and controlling expenses.
