The Office of the Auditor General (OAGO) is an independent office of the Legislative Assembly that conducts performance and financial statement audits of the provincial government, its ministries and agencies. We also audit organizations in the broader public sector that receive provincial funding. Our vision is to deliver exceptional value and assurance to members of the Legislative Assembly, the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, and all Ontarians through high-quality work that promotes accountability, economy, efficiency and effectiveness in the Ontario public sector.   The OAGO is looking for a Director, Editorial Services and Production to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for all our editorial content, ensuring it is consistently high-quality, engaging, and aligned with our brand and objectives. You will develop and execute comprehensive editorial strategies, manage a diverse team of editors, writers, and contractors, and meticulously maintain the editorial standards and processes that safeguard our brand integrity. This role is central to producing the impactful reports, media materials, and external publications that drive public conversation.   What can I expect to do in this role? As a Director, Editorial Services and Production, you will:   * Strategic Leadership & Vision 1. Develop and implement forward-thinking editorial strategies that directly support the organization’s overall goals. 2. Identify and analyze trends, audience needs, and the evolving media and public landscape to inform content direction. 3. Collaborate closely with senior management and other departments to ensure consistent messaging and strategic alignment across all published materials. * Content Oversight & Quality Control 1. Oversee the creation, editing, and production of all editorial content, ensuring it is accurate, engaging, and adheres to OAGO brand guidelines. 2. Establish and maintain rigorous editorial style guides, standards, and best practices. 3. Implement and manage quality control processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and legal compliance (e.g., copyright, intellectual property). 4. Establish and manage editorial calendars and workflows for timely production. * Team Management & Development 1. Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team of editors, writers, and content creators, including managing external contractors. 2. Provide continuous coaching, mentorship, and constructive feedback to team members. 3. Foster a collaborative and productive working environment, effectively delegating work to meet production deadlines. * Budget Management 1. Manage the editorial service budget, including expense control and negotiating contracts with external vendors.   How do I qualify?
