Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction and leadership to Energy Distribution Engineering personnel in review, evaluation, and solving of technical problems related to accomplishment of their stated area goals and objectives in fulfilling the mission of the Trust
  • Provide coaching and counseling to direct reports and other associates to facilitate the development of a strong management team
  • Review and interpret federal, state and local codes for their impact on Trust policies and procedures. Communicate and coordinate with outside entities, government agencies and maintain reporting requirements
  • Participate in financial analysis, planning, budgeting, and long-range forecasting for capital projects and initiatives in Energy Distribution
  • Responsible for planning, development, and monitoring of the Distribution Energy Engineering capital and expense budgets

Qualifications:
Candidate shall possess not less than a BS in Engineering, Engineering Technology (preferably Mechanical or Civil), or related scientific field of study (Physics, Mathematics, etc.) from an accredited college or university.

Position shall have a minimum of 15 years experience working in a related engineering field with specific emphasis in utility system operation and design, and at least 5 years directly in engineering supervision or construction management. Preferred candidate would have practical experience in multi-discipline, project engineering and construction planning.

  • Knowledgeable in the function and operation of utility production systems and facilities
  • Experience with energy distribution systems
  • Must be detailed, highly organized and able to prioritize
  • Strong delegation, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively present information
  • Must pass and participate in random drug & alcohol program in accordance with 49 CFR 199, Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administrative (PHMSA) and 49 CFR Part 40, DOT drug and alcohol testing regulations.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Business Administration, or related management/business field of study
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Experience and understanding of various project delivery methods
  • Experience in the effective negotiation of Consulting and Construction contracts
  • Functional understanding of water, wastewater, gas, steam, and chilled water operating Distribution systems
  • Familiarity with applicable gas, steam, chilled water, water, and wastewater regulations
