Description

WHY OVIVA?

At Oviva, we’re on a mission to make sustainable, personalized, clinically effective care accessible to everyone.
Our digital programmes support people living with weight related illnesses. While weight loss is a goal for many, our approach is about so much more: improving health, building confidence, and enhancing quality of life.
We’ve already supported over one million people across the UK, Switzerland, Germany, and Poland – and we’re just getting started. Every conversation, coaching session, and line of code brings us closer to a healthier future. Join us, and be part of the team making that future possible. The role:
As Director of Engineering , you’ll be a pivotal leader bridging technical strategy and impactful delivery. This role is both visionary and hands-on – ideal for someone who thrives at scale, mentors with empathy, and sees technical excellence as a driver of real-world health outcomes.
You’ll lead teams building Oviva’s shared platform services and architecture, enabling our patient-facing applications and internal tooling to scale reliably and securely across Europe. Partnering closely with Product, Design, and Executive Leadership, you’ll steer the engineering vision and build high-performing, mission-aligned teams.
You are a seasoned engineering leader with a strong technical foundation and a passion for coaching, mentoring, and scaling teams. You balance big-picture strategic thinking with operational excellence, and you’re known for enabling others to succeed.

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE AT SCALE:

You’ve led platform or infrastructure teams within fast-scaling tech organisations, ideally across multiple geographies. You’re skilled in managing through complexity and ambiguity while aligning engineering efforts with strategic outcomes.

  • 8–10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3–5+ years in senior engineering leadership (e.g., Director, Head of Engineering).
