TECHNICAL AND INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with an equipment supplier, Engineering company and/or Owner company.
  • Extensive supervisory, project management and/or technical experience; EP, EPF, EPC
  • Demonstrated leadership experience leading gas to power facility projects.
  • Experienced in the design, fabrication and delivery of medium and large complex gas to power facility projects.
  • Demonstrated capability of overseeing projects with responsibility for the full performance of the project (planning, directing, supervising and controlling all technical, fiscal and administrative functions).
  • In depth knowledge of equipment/materials required to deliver medium and large complex gas to power facility projects.
  • Capability to manage mixed contracting strategy such as Unit Price, Lump Sum, Reimbursable.
  • Has experience with managing complex scope changes.
  • Has completed multiple full projects from start to finish and spent time in the field implementing what was engineered.

EDUCATION – QUALIFICATIONS, ACCREDITATION, TRAINING:

  • University Degree, or equivalent, in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Preference towards Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Degrees

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE:

The Director, Engineering Technology – Power Plants will be responsible for overseeing the development and growth of the Gas to Power Plant Market segment, including identifying specific facility opportunities and projects for Worley in the Canada West region. The role is customer facing and requires an expert understanding of the power marketplace and the technical challenges that gas to power facilities face. This role also involves strategic planning and opportunity development for the Company through customer engagement, supporting proposals, and executing successful opportunities with customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in gas to power facilities with knowledge in process, mechanical and electrical engineering. Determines methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and selects the most efficient and economical manner for meeting objectives.
  • General areas of expertise to include Gas Turbine Generation (both Simple Cycle and Combined Cycle), Waste Heat Recovery and Power Distribution.
  • Experience with medium to large power generation facilities, islanding arrangements, regulatory and environmental permitting/applications, including all phases of project development from Concept Selection Studies through to construction/operations turnover.
  • Supports the standardization of equipment specifications and designs or design components.
  • Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications. Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence.
