POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting directly to the President of Velocity Truck Centres Canada, the Director of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive EH&S strategy aligned with Velocity Truck Centres’ business goals and the Velocity Vehicle Group’s global safety framework. This role will be a critical part of the Canadian Executive team and will partner closely with senior and branch leadership, operations, and cross-functional teams to champion a culture of safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional safety designation such as CRSP, CSP, or equivalent preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive EH&S leadership experience, ideally within transportation, heavy equipment, or dealership environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian occupational health and safety legislation and workers’ compensation systems across multiple provinces.
  • Proven success developing and implementing safety programs that reduce incidents and drive cultural change.
  • Experience leading WCB claims management and return-to-work planning.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with experience using EH&S software and reporting tools.
  • Comfortable working in shop environments and traveling to locations across Canada as needed.
