Job Summary Equity Trader focuses on Asian developed and emerging markets, reporting to Global Head of Equity Dealing. Trading on behalf of Investment Managers based in Asia and London. Key focus includes best execution, liquidity management, disciplined risk management, compliant trading with all regulatory and internal requirements from relevant groups within Barings. Will be required to actively engage with Investment managers, contributing to the overall investment process. Strong communication skills. Ability to confidently trade via algorithms is a must. Primary Responsibilities Work closely with Global Head of Equity Dealing, optimising execution with a focus on minimising market impact and transaction costs, liquidity and risk management skills Strong market awareness with ability to operate effectively within the team Ensure all dealing is compliant with all regulatory requirements such as Best Execution as well as meeting any internal requirements from relevant groups within Barings Monitor market structure, regulatory changes and identify trading strategies opportunities Work closely with both the trading team and Investment Managers Proactively develop and maintain strong broker relationships Proactively contribute to the trading process, liaising with risk, compliance, operations, IT teams and any other relevant teams Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required SFC type 1 and 2 required, Relevant SFC Responsible Officer license is a plus At 5 years of equity and Index future trading experience Fast learner with strong attention to detail and accuracy, able to work effectively under pressure Strong interpersonal, communication, numeracy and analytical skills Ability to work collaboratively Experience with execution algorithms and TCA Fluent in English and Chinese Strong Knowledge of equity markets, an understanding of fixed income and FX markets Requisite Skills Additional Skills Barings is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer; Minority/Female/Age/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Individual with Disability/Protected Veteran.
