Responsibilities

THE TEAM AND THE PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The First Nations Economic Wellbeing branch, part of NSW Treasury’s Centre for Economic Evidence, works to embed First Nations rights, interests, and perspectives into government decision-making. The team leads initiatives such as expenditure reporting, investment and prosperity frameworks, and the State of the First Nations Business Sector report, while supporting Treasury’s commitments under Closing the Gap.
As Director, you will lead this strategic work program, providing high-level, evidence-based advice to Treasury leadership and government. You will foster respectful relationships with First Nations communities, champion cultural capability across Treasury, and represent the agency in cross-government forums to improve economic outcomes for First Nations people.
